Post Engine stalls on acceleration
I have an 2003 TRX350FE Rancher that wants to stall on acceleration. When it failed it failed suddenly not gradually.
It starts every time without problems and idles fine but when I hit the accelerator it revs up some before stalling or hesitating badly. It does this in neutral or in gear.
I took apart the carb and aside from a little dirt in the float bowl the carb was clean.
I've taken off the air filter with no change.
I've swapped in a new spark plug with no change.
The battery is at 12.4V which is low but a load test on the battery showed no problem.

Electrically I tested the angle sensor and it appears to be fine.
I tried testing the ignition coil primary peak voltage but it wasn't registering the 100V minimum that the manual suggests. It registered 0V until the plug was pulled away from ground(when it registered 145V).
I also tried testing the pulse generator but it wasn't registering the .7 volts the manual suggests.

Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
Thanks,
Pete

Does it do it with the engine hot, cold, or both?

Both hot and cold. Also tried spraying gas into carb throat while hitting throttle and it still hesitated suggesting that it is not being fuel starved.

I think it's spark related. Unfortunately, I broke down and sent it to the shop. No word yet on the cause,
Pete

The latest is that the shop fixed it but doesn't know exactly what they did!
They checked compression, spark and carb and found nothing wrong. They checked the ignition control module and some other electricals and after doing so the engine now runs fine.
They suspect it was an electrical connection seating problem but they couldn't say for sure.
They recommended unplugging and applying dielectric grease to the connections.
We'll see how it runs when I'm able to test drive.
