Post GRINDING GEARS WHEN SHIFTING INTO FOREWARD OR REVERSE
I HAVE A 2006 RINCON WHICH GRINDS GEARS WHEN SHIFTING INTO FOREWARD OR REVERSE. THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET THERE IS TO SHUT MACHINE OFF, SHIFT INTO GEAR THEN START BY DEPRESSING BRAKE LEVER. RUNS FINE THEN. I'VE TRIED ADJUSTING SHIFT LINKAGE. THIS ALL STARTED AFTER I SPENT 2 HOURS PULLING A BROKEN MACHINE THROUGH SNOW WHERE I WAS REALLY WORKING MY RIG HARD. ANY IDEAS?

My buddy just bought an 05 rincon and it's having this same issue; any ideas? His idle seems fine, but it grinds when putting into gear.

If it's doing it in both forward and reverse it possibly could be the cable. Most of the time it does it in just forward or just reverse and then you can adjust the cable to fix that. Worse case is the gears are rounded where they engage each other and need replaced.
